The 'X' Zone Radio Show (Oct 27, 2015): Michael Horn and his many misleading claims (UPDATED)

Listen: youtube or mp3

ANALYSIS:

[See Update Nov 17, 2015 & March 26, 2016]

In this interview, as usual, the authorized American media representative of Billy Meier case, Michael Horn (MH) made many claims on prophecies, most of which have already been many times before strongly demonstrated to be either ludicrous or unsubstantiated or pseudo-scientific. Obviously that didn't deter him from making those same shoddy claims again and again ad nauseam instead of re-evaluating them. One can't help but wonder whether his belief is deeply entrenched in Meier case being true (as a consequence of which any evidence that challenges his belief system is presented, they will either be ignored or responded with ad hominem derision) or that he, being aware of all the pitfalls in the Meier case, is simply doing his "job" as a PR person, whose main goal is just to publicize and promote his/her case/cause/product rather than evaluating its genuineness and brooding about the ethical implications before rallying behind case/cause/product.

Having said that, let us now jump right away into MH's claims.

During the interview, while trying to demonstrate that Meier didn't (have to) backdate his so-called "fulfilled" prophecies, MH cited the "genuineness" of the beamship photos as one of the reasons. The other reason being the fulfillment of the prophecies that are written using a fool-proof sequential numbering system (which we will get into later) and at the same time verifiably published before the prophecized events occurred.

REASON #1: Beamship Photos

MH seems to claim that since nobody has been able to duplicate the 1964 beamship photos taken by Meier in India and also that the experts at NASA, JPL, etc. have authenticated the Meier's mid-1975 beamship "original" photos, there is no reason for Meier to deliberately backdate, in other words, to fake his so-called "fulfilled" prophecies.

It is true that experts at NASA, JPL and other labs have tested Meier's slides/negatives from mid 1970's and have found no signs of fakery like strings, double exposure, etc. But the truth which MH seems to have deliberately avoided presenting is that these same experts have revealed that the slides or negatives that were tested were NOT ORIGINALS and that they must be several generations away from the originals, which was also later acknowledged by Meier. The obvious implication of this important revelation is that the authenticity of Meier's pictures can never be determined because there is always the possibility that signs of fakery will be present in the originals (which are somehow conveniently lost or stolen) which could be later made to disappear using various photographic techniques and darkroom equipment.

MH also cites the recent "analysis" conducted by Rhal Zahi (pseudonym) on Energy ships, pendulum beamship and WCUFO. Rhal Zahi considers the Meier case as genuine and created a website for kids, Billyforkids.info, which is ‘designed for children aged 3 years or older and presents games and other forms of interactive entertainment to make learning about Billy Meier and our fellow human beings from the depths of space an interesting and fun experience.' It seems he is totally ok to bombard the young, malleable minds with unsubstantiated, dubious and fake claims (space photos, etc.) of a purported UFO contactee and his mission on Earth.

Who is Rhal Zahi and what are his credentials? MH has been claiming and promoting RZ as a person who is a professor implying that he has Ph.D. I contacted RZ himself to know where he did his Ph.D. and on what subject on July 5, 2015, he responded on the same day as follows:

"..I understand a Professor is somebody with a PHd. I do not have a PHd. So I consider my self a Teacher rather than a Professor."

But this doesn't stop MH from still claiming Rhal Zahi to be a professor. When asked what and where RZ lectured, he mentioned that he taught the subject Material Resistance in ‘Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano’ and Computer Programming in ‘Universidad La Gran Colombia’ to students that took up the civil engineering course. He also claims to be an 'engineer, coach, change management expert, consultant, amateur astronomer, writer and an artist from Bogota, Columbia.' As you can see, he is neither a professional photographer nor an expert in photo- and film-developing who can identify all the potential tricks and deceptions. This however didn't stop him from publishing his "analysis" where he concludes that the unidentified objects in the pictures and video must be very large objects of several meters in diameter (ruling out small UFO models) and so must be extraterrestrial spacecrafts. Has his analysis been peer-reviewed and confirmed by real experts, a part of the scientific method which is imperative? As it turns out, no real, relevant experts have ever looked at his analysis and supported his conclusions except the one Filmmaker and researcher Daniel Drasin, who did look into his analysis of pendulum UFO and pointed out several glaring flaws in his analysis. This and other flaws in Rhal Zahi's analysis on Asket-Nera and Cave men photos, casts serious doubt on his "expertise" and claims made in the rest of his reports. And by the way did I tell you that none of the photos and videos he analyzed are (proven) originals?

Despite these many serious drawbacks (among several dozen others), MH desperately wants us to simply BELIEVE in his and as well as Meier's claims pertaining to the "proven authenticity" of photos and videos. Unfortunately some gullible people, who are poor at critical thinking skills and not-knowledgeable on how science works, are being sucked into believing these unsubstantiated, pseudo-scientific claims.

REASON #2: Numbering system

I have already presented more than enough evidence on BMUFOR page that totally disproves the claims of MH and FIGU on the role of the so-called sequential numbering system which supposedly acts as a fool-proof method against the potential fabrication of the contact reports (CRs) where additional information regarding the prophecized events could be added after they occur.

As an example, when the number of verses were compared1 between the 2nd edition contact notes Semjase Kontakt Berichte (SKB) and the 3rd edition Plejadisch-plejarische Kontakberichte (PPKB) volumes, for the contact reports between 1 and 5172, the difference is at least 5,976. That is, at least nearly 6,000 verses or sentences have been newly added to the 3rd edition PPKBs. The majority of them i.e., 4,622 verses belonging entirely to the contact reports 197 (1984) - 231 (1989), which surprisingly contains a massive amount of prophecies and predictions compared to any other contact reports, were never published in SKB 12 (1995) at all. But were only published for the first time in PPKB 5 and 6 in 2004 and 2005 respectively, long after the purported prophecies and predictions have occurred. More on this here.

And this webpage - Exposé of Billy Meier’s prophecies and predictions - documents many different instances where the content in the verses of the contact reports (between CR 1 and CR 217), seem to be deliberately manipulated in order to make it look like Meier has prophecized or predicted events or discoveries before they occurred. Along with the content in the verses being manipulated, one can also clearly see the different verse numbers between the editions that fall before and after the date on which the purported prophecized/predicted event has been allegedly fulfilled.

Has this simple, easily verifiable fact on the gross differences between the verse content as well as verse numbers among different contact notes editions, been deliberately suppressed by MH/FIGU or for some bizarre reasons escaped the decades of (ludicrous and shoddy) "investigation" allegedly conducted by MH (and other FIGU members and supporters) on Meier case? In the case of MH, if he was really sincere and honest about finding the truth and help change the world towards better, when confronted with the above discussed incontestable facts, one would expect him to step back for a moment, listen to the counter-evidence and re-evaluate his position. But the way things went so far, MH never seemed to follow the above process. He seems to have a superpower of being immune to irrefutable facts, no matter how much facts you pile up, he still hangs onto the rotten and broken branch of the tree, which tells us so much about his motives and priorities.

REASON #3: Verifiably fulfilled prophecies

(a) Atom Bomb - Ozone depletion:

Around 24 min. into the show, MH claims that he saw an article in a newspaper on November 29, 1988, supposedly reporting a “new discovery” made by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories under an article titled - ATOM BOMB TESTING TIED TO OZONE DEPLETION, 13 years after Meier had already allegedly published it in 1975. This corroboration, according to MH convinced him about the authenticity of Meier's contacts. He further claims that skeptics usually point to some obscure and almost inaccessible (to Meier in 1975) document published by a scientist as rebuttal, which according to MH is unreasonable because it is (almost) impossible for Meier to obtain some obscure and almost inaccessible document published in a science paper/magazine in order to copy the information from it for his contact report.

Is there any truth to the above MH claims and also is it true that the link between atom bomb and ozone depletion was only discovered for the first time in 1988?

As it turns out, both are demonstrably false. Following is an excerpt from BMUFOR/CR 7:

"..the following quotes from newspapers and a magazine from 1974 clearly shows that the negative effects of atom bombs/nuclear explosions on ozone layer and life was already known before Meier allegedly received information about it in 1975.

U.S. Official Warns Of Ozone Depletion From Nuclear War (New York Times, pg. 1, September 6, 1974)
(Original article issued by U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency on which the above New York Times article is based on, can be accessed here)

“The potential depletion of the ozone layer by nuclear explosions is a new, accidental discovery that arms control officials believe adds an awesome element to the destructive effects of a nuclear war”
“… perhaps it would destroy critical links of the intricate food chain of plants and animals, and thus shatter the ecological structure that permits man and animals to remain alive on this planet.”

Pentagon Replies On Peril To Ozone (New York Times, pg. 7, October 17, 1974)

“The Defense Department estimates that an all-out nuclear war would significantly deplete the protective layer of ozone in the stratosphere but not to the point of endangering the continuance of life on earth.”
“… two University of California scientists (…) contend that there was a 4 percent depletion in the ozone layer as a result of 1961-62 explosions.”

Stratospheric Pollution: Multiple Threats to Earth’s Ozone (Science, pg. 335-338, v.186, no. 4161, October 25, 1974)

“Supersonic transports, aerosol sprays, and nuclear weapons (…) are all potential sources of catalytic agents that penetrate the earth’s stratosphere and decompose the ozone that shields living things from the worst of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation (…) High intensities of this ultraviolet radiation are harmful to nearly all forms of life (…) An increased incidence of mutation has been observed in certain [plants] (…) There are also some indications that increased radiation will interfere with the growth of plankton in the ocean (…) The controversial evidence is thus that the 1961-1962 bomb tests resulted in a moderate, transient reduction of ozone.”"

As you can see, the 'new, accidental discovery' of a link between atom bomb explosions and ozone layer depletion was published in 1974, 6 months before Meier allegedly announced it. And MH's other silly argument is pointless since The New York Times is neither an obscure nor an inaccessible source of information. It is also totally possible that this same exiting discovery also got published in Europe, from which Meier likely copied it. And did I tell you that Meier has a business account at a book store near to his residence, where he frequently buys several books related to space, science, history, photography, astronomy, etc. and also a 99 volume Chronik (lists all the events and scientific achievements for each year) series of books? Also did I tell you that Meier himself stated that he is 'learning constantly through professional books, professional articles in newspapers and magazines, as well as through professional television broadcasts'?3

When MH was confronted with these irrefutable facts several years ago, he never responded then and even to this day. And whenever he does respond, other than addressing the counter-evidence, he would usually do it by making condescension remarks by calling them internet babies, dimwit skeptics and other nasty things. A sign of great "spiritual progress"!

(b) 150 - 200 prophetic/predictive corroborations:

Around 27:45 min., MH claims that somewhere between 150 to 200 prophecies/predictions have been corroborated, from a minor number of English translated contact reports and implicitly asserts that there could be well beyond 200 if all the original untranslated german contact reports were to be analyzed.

The truth, which he doesn't want the readers or his followers to know, is that the vast majority among these nearly 200 prophecies/predictions are published among the contact reports ranging between CR 197 (1984) and CR 231 (1989). And as mentioned earlier under Reason #2, they were never published in SKB 12 (1995) at all but were only published for the first time in PPKB 5 and 6 in 2004 and 2005 respectively, several years after the events or discoveries have been known to the world. More on this here.

(c) Henoch Prophecies - Destruction of World Trade Center (WTC) and Islamic Fundamentalism

From around 44:15 min. onwards, MH talks about one of the Henoch prophecies i.e., the destruction of WTC in 2001, supposedly received by Meier from a Plejaren ET, Quetzal in 1987. While he admits that this WTC prophecy along with other Henoch prophecies (as well as the letters containing prophecies and predictions from 1950's and 60's) weren't published by Meier until much later in early to mid-2000's, he seems to argue that since a couple other Henoch prophecies have been verifiably fulfilled more recently, then this is proof enough that the WTC prophecy wasn't later added by Meier after the Sep 11, 2001 incident. Let me give you a minute for that insane logic to sink into your mind.

There are multiple problems with this kind of inept reasoning. And the most obvious one is that, even if we grant Meier that a couple of the Henoch prophecies have been lately fulfilled, it doesn't logically follow that the WTC prophecy must also have been known to Meier since 1987 and not later added by him after the 2001 incident. It is totally possible that the WTC prophecy could still be added later by Meier. Now let us look into these other Henoch prophecies that MH claims to have been fulfilled.

MH cites the following excerpt4..

175. And it will be that the fanatics of Islam will rise up against the countries of Europe and all will shake and quiver.
176. Everything in the West will be destroyed; England will be conquered and thrown down to the lowest level of misery.
177. And the fanatics and warriors of Islam will retain their power for a long time.
178. However, not only Europe will be affected but ultimately all the countries and peoples of the Earth, as the great horror expands to a war that will encompass the entire world.

..and asked the radio show host the following two questions:

When did we start to hear about fanatics of Islam rising up against the countries of Europe?
When did that start to really take place?

And the host Rob McConnell responded to the above questions with 'Couple of years ago' and 'Last year' respectively, which MH tacitly acknowledges. The above prophecies, other than being quite vague, were given a timeline when they are supposed occur, as mentioned by Quetzal as follows:

Billy:
..But tell us now what the new millennium will bring to human beings of Earth and the planet Earth according to the prophecies of Henoch.

Quetzal:
I will do that in a moment, but I would like to explain before beginning that I am not authorised to give exact indication of years in an official manner....The point in time at which these prophecies will begin to be fulfilled will be when a Pope will no longer reside in Rome. (..)

And specifically regarding the excerpt which MH deceptively cherry-picked on the 'fanatics of islam' without giving the context, it is to be stated that these events are prophecized to occur during or after the World War III that would last about 888 days causing the civilization to collapse.5 Anyone with an ounce of brain tissue and not living under the rock, would easily realize that the events mentioned - everything in the west being destroyed, England being conquered and a WW3 - haven't occurred at all. But these indisputable facts doesn't bother MH at all. Since 2005, on his blog and website he has been citing excerpts related to Islamic fundamentalism and fanaticism in the Henoch prophecies - and has been claiming that those "specific" events have been fulfilled - whenever anything related to the Islamic fundamentalism and fanaticism is published in the media. For the record, Islamic fundamentalism and its import to Europe in the guise of illegal immigration is nothing new and has long been considered a major problem by the concerned governments. For example check this 1995 article.

Update (Nov 17, 2015): As it turns out, the Islamic invasion of Europe, especially France, has been reportedly predicted centuries ago by catholic prophets and Nostradamus. And more recently, several decades ago by the blind Bulgarian mystic, clairvoyant, and herbalist - Baba Vanga. Not to mention most of Meier's prophecies published in Contact Report 251 (1995), for the next 2000 years up to the year 3,999 A.D. are almost similar to Baba Vanga's prophecies (see above link) for the very far future up to 5,079 A.D. Also, check out this The Skeptics Guide to the Universe's article (Nov 17, 2015) on these Paris predictions.

Update (March 26, 2016): Also read the book - Die Weissagungen des Nostradamus - Neu entschlüsselt (1991) - by Manfred Dimde who claimed that he has successfully deciphered the cryptic prophecies of Nostradamus. In this book, many events pertaining to the future Islamic invasion of Europe several decades from now and their subsequent withdrawal from their occupied territories due to the counter attacks and resistance by the USA and Europe has been discussed.

(d) A Russian attack on Scandinavia will start from Arkhangelsk

Already debunked here.

Footnotes:

1 To count the total number of verses, the sum of highest verse numbers of each contact person in a contact report are added. It is possible that some in between verses may not have been published and simply were left as blank but with verse numbers, supposedly meant to be published in later editions.
2 50 contact reports, i.e. between 353-372 and 402-433 are excluded, since the SKB volumes with those contact reports are not available with us.
3 See Meier has no access to scientific information? at BMUFOR.
4 Later MH also cites the following verses:
(..)
237. In addition, significant tensions will arise between the native citizens and immigrants from foreign countries, who as a rule also observe religious beliefs different from those of the native populace.

238. And in the end, this will lead to severe conflicts.

BMUFOR - Analysis of Prophecies and Predictions in Contact Reports 197-231 (Part 1/3)

Visit this BMUFOR link to check out the analysis of the prophecies, predictions and scientific information contained in the Contact Reports 197-217. Rest of the analysis on contact reports between CR 218 and CR 231 will be published later as two other parts.

Note from BMUFOR:

'Since we haven't yet published our complete analysis of all the contact reports we looked into, this 'Conclusions' section of the page will remain blank for the time being. But some of the readers have written to us asking for a link at least to a (temporary) webpage that documents all the dubious and the negative evidence that strongly supports the hypothesis that Meier has most likely fabricated almost all of his so-called "fulfilled" prophecies/predictions and other scientific information either by basing or copying them (irrespective of them being credible, scientific or pseudo-scientific) from the newspapers, science magazines, popular magazines, etc. or only publishing them (with an earlier date) after the events have occurred. Examples where Meier was supposedly specifically warned not to publish the contact report information before the events because of their sensitive nature haven't been included in this list.

Dear readers, this webpage - Exposé of Billy Meier's prophecies and predictions - is for you!'

Stanton T. Friedman's letters from 1979 and 1980 on Billy Meier case in 'UFOs are Real' documentary

Nuclear Physicist Stanton T. Friedman requested (to no avail) that the segment in his 1979 documentary 'UFOs Are Real' dealing with the Meier case be removed. Here are two of the letters he sent to Group 1 Films (which produced the movie) and Wendelle Stevens, published by Korff on pgs. 105-107 in his 1981 book 'The Meier Incident: The Most Infamous Hoax in Ufology.'

Note: Portions of these letters not pertaining to the Meier case haven't been presented by Korff.

Letter 1:

Dear Brandon:                                                                                                                    Dec. 23, 1979

I wish to go officially on record as requesting that the Meier segment of the film be removed from the film. I have yet to see the movie but have also been completely unable to find any substantiation for the experience either from Wendelle Stevens, his associates, or anybody else in the world of UFOlogy. All four people who were at the screening on December 10 felt that the movie...as much better than expected, that it was probably the best UFO documentary ever made, and that the Meier segment leaves a very bad impression and should be removed. I should stress that all have many years of UFO interest, concern, and investigation behind them.

As I have stressed in numerous conversations with you, Ed, Mary Anne and others, I have been consistently distressed at Wendelle's unreliability as an investigator. Examples include the supposed but non-existent thousands of witnesses to the Ubatuba magnesium samples, the William Herrmann case documented in a previously supplied letter, the statement from Wendelle that that Marcel Vogel did not go to San Diego to announce the ET nature of the samples from Meier because of a conversation between Sagan and Vogel. No such conversation has taken place. Wendelle also misrepresented Jim Lorenzen's views about the Meier case. The book about the case is high on beauty but very low on documentation and also has errors of fact. Lorenzen's letter to the publisher's of Wendelle's book is enclosed. You have a German letter from Veit and also one from VonKeviczky both not accepting the Meier case even though both would very much like for it to be legitimate.

We knew the movie would bring attacks from the skeptics. I believe that the whole film will be tarnished by the implied acceptance of the Meier case. I think therefore that we will get attacks from friends. Do we really want them? I think sale of  the film to TV would be seriously jeopardized by the Meier segment. As you told me facts and documentation are what they want...support for Meier other than from Wendelle and his heavily investing associates is totally lacking...

With the best wishes for the holiday season,
Stanton T. Friedman

Letter 2:

Dear Wendelle:                                                                                                             April 19, 1980

As I am sure you are unaware I have expressed very serious doubts about the validity of the Swiss pictures and have asked to no avail that that segment of UFOs Are Real be removed. It is not because I can at this time say that the pictures have been proven phony, but more that I am not satisfied that they have been established to be genuine. Unfortunately one of the main reasons is that your investigations seem to include as factual, many conjectures and extensions of reality. I find there to be an enormously important difference between what is and what might be. You seem to causually mix the two.

A good example is your investigation of the Herrmann case. Last June I wrote you asking for answers to a number of seemingly straight forward questions about your investigation. I have yet to receive a reply though you said you were working on it -- in San Diego in November...

Others have already raised a number of questions about the Swiss case and I suspect there will be even more raised in the future. I think the whole field of UFOlogy is done a great disservice by any publication embodying half truths, part truths, and untruths. They certainly lead to questions about profiteering, quick buck efforts, ethics, etc...

Sincerely,
Stan Friedman

BMUFOR - Analysis of Billy Meier's Extraterrestrial Metal and Crystal Samples

Billy Meier claims that in the years 1975, 1976, 1978, 1981 and 1993, his extraterrestrial contactors the Plejaren have provided him with several metal-alloy samples, crystals, minerals, rocks and primordial liquid – originating from various locations both within our solar system and also beyond, even from a different space-time dimension and also from the parallel DAL universe. Supposedly they also furnished hair specimens from a purported ET woman Semjase, an apple grown on a Plejaren mothership called the Great Spacer, residue left after the self-destruction of an ET warning-device, and metal specimens each representing a different yet consecutive stage of development in the production process of making metal for Plejaren spacecrafts or beamships.

All of these specimens have been analyzed by more than half a dozen scientific experts. What have they reported? Are Meier's purported extraterrestrial specimens conclusively proven as such by experts?

Find the answers at BMUFOR/Metal and Crystal Samples.

Following are some of the highlights from the analysis pages:
  1. No evidence that any of these specimens are extraterrestrial.
  2. Marcel Vogel's claims to have supernatural abilities like being able to communicate with stars and plants, bend metals, project thoughts and photograph their effects on crystals, project thoughts into peoples minds, contact extra-dimensional entities, communicated with Semjase, heal people, etc.
  3. Marcel Vogel reportedly claims that Meier is a fraud.
  4. Marcel Vogel claims to have discovered 4 previously UNKNOWN elements in the periodic table while analyzing Meier's metal specimens.
  5. Marcel Vogel was disappointed and became extremely upset because Lee-Steven's have published his "extraordinary" claims (which Vogel himself claims to be 'technically wrong') prematurely, before him being able to review them himself and also before subjecting them to peer-review.
  6. Meier claims Plejaren are behind the disappearance of the unique metal specimen in Marcel Vogel's possession.
  7. Meier and Plejaren, apparently never claimed the metal specimens as unique but only did after Vogel made the "extraordinary" claims.
  8. Evidence that contact report has been seemingly edited to fit the "extraordinary" claims.
  9. Correspondence with Ivan Alvarado-Rodriguez (PhD in Electrical Engineering from UCLA) on some of the "cold-fusion" claims made by Wendelle Stevens.
